First weekend in Akko

Ok so its our first weekend in Akko, Friday and Saturdays are our weekend then back to work on Sunday. We werent sure what to do as it was raining heavily and most public transport stop at around 2pm and restarts Saturday evening. So we stayed in the house till around 4pm when we got a phone call from Yossi asking if we wanted to do something. We didn't mind doing anything just to get out of the house!
So he came and picked us up and we drove about20-30mintues to a city called Haifa which is the largest in Northern Israel and the 3rd largest in the country. Of all places we went to an Irish pub called Temple Bar. This felt more like home with all the English beers and drinks if not more than whats available at home. We sat down and a few minutes later the owner appeared greeting us and giving us all a free drink welcoming us because we were from out of town, everyone is really friendly and love welcoming visitors. As many people will know I like cider and they had 2 kinds on the menu but both were sold out so they kindly offered to let me try a few samples before ordering, I ended up ordering some kind of apple beer which was really nice and Denys opted for a litre of Hobgoblin, yes a litre glass!

After Temple Bar we took a short drive to a meat restaurant in Haifa. We are hoping to get to Haifa in the day when the weather is warm and sunny again as even at night the city looked amazing. All the city is up on hills so you can see all the lights and buildings up on different levels. So hopefully we'll have some more photos of Haifa in the daytime soon. But the meat restaurant was great plus on the same street there were lots more restaurants with fancy lights making it look like it was Christmas again! As soon as we went in the restaurant there was a glass see through floor which had an old type of cellar or something at the bottom, a very nice feature. We were greeted with a glass of wine each and then taken to the counter where we chose our meat and how much we wanted, Yossi and Hen ordered Argentinian steak whereas me and Denys wanted to try something different so we had Israeli steak. The food was excellent and we had a great night in Haifa.

Saturday we woke up and the weather was dry and sunny! But not for long the rain soon came and it was very heavy and constant again and once again this is when the internet cut off. So we decided to open the box of Arsenal merchandise we will be distributing. All things from kits to key chains. We also had a shirt with schnitzel printed on the back, this qas quite amusing as right by our house everyone has been telling us about a great schnitzel place which we havent tried yet but we will be in the near future. Afterwards we watched a movie, whilst we were the internet has come back on. We'll probably just be staying in and making something simple to eat tonight before Working at another school tomorrow so I'll be sure to bring more updates soon.
